FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide telephone consultations?

Yes, we do. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we are presently offering telephone consultations. Please give us a call on 0000 000 000 to book your telephone or video call appointment with us. Alternatively, you can schedule an appointment online; in that situation, we will reach out to you to confirm your appointment.

Do you offer bulk billing?

Yes, we do offer bulk billing for an extensive range of standard Medicare services. We provide comprehensive care services, too; hence bulk-billing is always an option for you. Although, private fees will apply for specific procedures not included (or partly covered) by Medicare. To discuss more about this and find out about any out of pocket costs you might incur, please give us a call.

Is it necessary to make an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?

We recommend booking the consultation in advance as we cannot guarantee that you’ll be able to consult the Doctor without one. This is because we prioritise patients with appointments over walk-ins. So, to avoid wasting your time and plan your day better, scheduling an appointment is the best course of action. However, this is not the case during emergencies.

How do I acquire a medical certificate?

A doctor can give medical certificates following a consultation. Please note that medical certificates can not be backdated. So, ensure that you consult in advance for your illness if you require a medical certificate for work.

How can I transfer my medical reports from my former Doctor to your practice?

If you’re seeking to have your medical records assigned to us, please reach out to our reception team, and they will guide you on how to get it done.

What is the easiest way to book an appointment with a specialist?

In order to book an appointment with a specialist, you will need a referral from a GP to consult a specialist. So, please book an appointment with your GP to get a referral, and your GP will assist you further.

Can you explain to me your confidentiality and privacy policy?

At Batemans Bay Medical and Skin Centre, we take patient privacy very seriously. Your medical reports will be kept entirely secure. We follow the AMA code of Ethics concerning Privacy and Confidentiality. So, your personal and medical records are safe with us.

How can I gain access to my test results?

We disclose test results only to the patient. Our receptionists will guide you on whether your test results are available. Once the results are ready, you will typically be asked to make a follow-up appointment with the Doctor to access the results. Please note that we do not provide any test results over the phone. You will have to come see us in person to get your test results.

Do you offer same-day or priority appointments?

Please get in touch with us over the phone to check if we can provide you with a same-day appointment. If your concern is urgent, do mention it to the receptionist, and we’ll do our best to assist you. Please note that we cannot guarantee a same-day consultation. It will depend on a case-by-case basis. That being said, at Batemans Bay Medical and Skin Centre, we do everything we can to accommodate our patients. So, give us a call and we’ll do our best to help you.

I’ve lost/misplaced my referral. Can I get a duplicate?

If you’ve misplaced your referral form, please talk to our reception team, and they will be more than happy to assist you.
